As part of a developer-sponsored project to increase the capacity of 8 Mile Road in Stockton from two lanes to six lanes, Biggs Cardosa was contracted to perform the structural design and construction support services for tieback walls under the I-5 undercrossing. The City of Stockton requested that an artist-created relief mural depicting oak trees be incorporated into the design. As structural designers, our efforts included developing details that converted the abstract artist concept into a set of biddable documents.
