The County of San Joaquin selected Biggs Cardosa to design and manage the rehabilitation or replacement of the Peltier Road Bridge over Mokelumne River. Having a Sufficiency Rating of 62.9, but nearing the end of its design life, Biggs Cardosa was requested to develop a preliminary technical study evaluating the various alternatives that would justify a replacement structure under the HBP Funding guidelines. The structure has unique design considerations including public outreach and environmental components as the structure represents the Lodi Wine region with its tree-lined canopy approaches. Crossing over the Mokelumne River, this bridge project also requires coordination with the Central Valley Flood Protection Board for their review and approval as well with numerous environmental permitting agencies.
