Biggs Cardosa provided structural engineering services for the construction of a new bus transfer facility for Monterey-Salinas Transit. The structures include a 900 sf single-story office and restroom, two large open shelters (approximately 1300 sf) and two small shelters (approximately 370 sf). Each shelter includes three steel columns along one side with the canopy framing extending approximately 20 feet to one side. The framing is constructed of steel and wood and is supported by cable braces tied to the top of the columns.
