Permanente Creek Flood Control Study, Mountain View, CA

The project consisted of the material testing and evaluation of structural deficiencies, condition, life expectancy, and recommended repair of approximately 5.1 miles of existing concrete box culverts, concrete trapezoidal channel linings, levees and concrete U-frame channel linings. These structures were originally built in the 1960’s and exhibited structural degradation and isolated concrete and soil failures. The structural evaluation of the existing facilities provided recommendations to accommodate future flood control improvements and modifications along the channel in order to increase the existing channel capacity to convey 100-year flows and provide adequate freeboard.
