John’s passion for structural engineering was inspired by his dad who worked as a building inspector and would bring home structural plans. He took that passion to San Jose State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1998 and started working at Biggs Cardosa that year. During his tenure at the firm, John has been involved in the design and construction management of numerous bridge and transportation projects in Northern and Southern California. He has supported projects through the PID and PA/ED phases, as well as through the PS&E and construction phases. Projects include bridge replacements, bridge widenings, seismic retrofits, rail structures, multimodal structures, box culverts, retaining walls, and bridge preventive maintenance. John is registered as a Professional (Civil) Engineer in the State of California.
