Biggs Cardosa has been involved in conceptual design, preliminary design, final design check, final design, and construction inspection of several segments of the California High-Speed Rail project, including the 34-mile long Merced to Madera Segment. For this segment, Biggs Cardosa is leading a coalition comprised of five structure firms for the Preliminary Design, Final Design, and Load Rating of 43 high-speed rail and roadway bridge structures along or over/under the alignment, 40 box culverts (irrigation and wildlife) and over two miles of retaining walls.
