Lower Silver Creek Flood Protection – Reaches 4, 5 & 6, San Jose, CA

The project consisted of the construction of flood control improvements for approximately one and three quarter miles along Reaches 4, 5, & 6A of Lower Silver Creek from Interstate 680 to Moss Point Drive in San Jose. The flood control project was for the Coyote Watershed Program, operates under the auspices of the Santa Clara Valley Water Districts. Biggs Cardosa provided the structural design and construction support services for several structures, including but not limited to: 270 lineal feet of U-frame channel lining, a new 5-cell 90-foot long cast-in-place concrete box culvert, the addition of 31 precast concrete box culverts sections to create a single 200-foot long cell, the addition of 17 precast concrete box culverts sections to create a single 109-foot long cell, the replacement of the 70-foot long pedestrian bridge and the design of a total of 1,320 linear feet of concrete access ramps and adjacent retaining walls.
