Shaun began his career as an officer in the United States Air Force, where he led major government projects designing precast concrete culverts, reinforced concrete slabs, timber-framed towers, and multi-story steel buildings. His time in the Air Force sparked a lifelong passion for solving complex engineering challenges and delivering practical, durable designs. Shaun earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from California State University, Fresno. Since joining Biggs Cardosa in 2007, Shaun has played a key role on a wide variety of transportation projects throughout California. He has served as a Senior Engineer, Task Lead, and Project Manager on efforts ranging from new construction to retrofits, rehabilitations, and modifications of bridges, pump stations, culverts, and retaining walls. His project experience includes work for the California High-Speed Rail Authority, Caltrans, the Department of Water Resources, local transit agencies, and many cities and counties across the state. Shaun leads teams through every stage of design — from analysis and detailing to construction documentation and quality review. Known for his collaborative approach and technical expertise, he takes pride in mentoring design engineers and ensuring that every project meets the firm’s high standards for quality, innovation, and service.
