Newby Island Resource Recovery ParkBiggs Cardosa provided structural engineering services for the renovation of an 80,000 sf recycling facility. The project included installation of $60M worth of the latest recyclery machinery and equipment, employee offices and areas, shop facilities for the truck fleet, a new CNG Fueling facility for 41 fill points, massive new electrical substation installation, new loading dock area, new scales, and new storage and container shops, and 3 acres of site work and heavy traffic section paving. This plant will process all of the trash and recycled materials from all of San Jose’s commercial business and many residential areas until at least 2027.
